(1927-1998). 7th dan Yoshinkan Aikido. B. Kumamoto, Japan. Began study of judo, karate, kendo and sumo at age 16. Twice won Kanto Regional Judo Championships. Early practitioner of YOSHINKAN AIKIDO. Trained early foreign practitioners of Yoshinkan Aikido, particularly U.S. servicemen, at locations such as the Yokosuka Naval Base during the 1950s. Visited Hawaii in 1959 and then relocated there permanently in 1962 where he taught judo and aikido in Honolulu.
